Richard is a member of the Civil team.

Anti-social behaviour and housing: all areas incl. anti-social behaviour injunctions/orders, disrepair, rent, homelessness.

Richard has experience acting in locally high profile cases for both local authorities and tenants in claims for possession orders and injunctions under both the Housing Act 1996 and Local Government Act 1972. He also has experience in proceedings for anti-social behaviour orders especially when the application is ancillary to other county court proceedings.

Land and landlord and tenant: all areas including easements and mortgages, nuisance, particularly residential tenancies.

Richard has experience (including to trial) of cases concerning easements of rights of way and of drainage. He has also acted in mortgage possession claims involving husbands and wives where there are allegations of fraud or a wrongful transfer of property.

Cohabitation and Chancery law: All disputes (esp. property) disputes.

Richard is regularly instructed to act for both cohabitants and for husbands or wives where the law of trusts continues to apply. He is familiar with procedure both within the CPR and as intervenors within ancillary relief applications. He has appeared in cohabitation cases and family partnership cases in both the High Courts and county courts. Richard has given lectures on the topic to local solicitors.

Richard has also represented both adults and children making claims under the Inheritance (Provisions for Families and Dependents) Act 1975 and has advised in cases arising out the interpretation of wills.

Contract and Commercial law: including partnership disputes and gerenal contractual disputes.

Other: Richard also has experience in the fields of employment law and personal injury law on behalf of both claimants and defendants.
