Crime

The criminal team comprises Counsel from a range of seniority and with a wide range of specialist practices.

Members of the team appear in all courts, from the Magistrates' Courts up to the House of Lords, and can appear in other tribunals such as Courts Martial and disciplinary hearings.

Areas of Work

Each of our Counsel is experienced in the usual areas of criminal work, vetting public papers for Public Interest Immunity applications and in prison disciplinary law and parole board hearings.

We act equally for prosecution and defence, and are often instructed by local authorities and other government agencies.

Our Criminal Counsel only undertake any legally-aided Crown Court criminal work funded under the Graduated Fee Scheme on the terms set out in the General Council of the Bar's Graduated Fees Payment Protocol.
